Manager, Financial & Payment Operations

Accountabilities: Own the operational lifecycle of payment processing across multiple healthcare payment products, including payment execution, settlements, returns, exceptions, reconciliation, reporting, and end-to-end money movement. Develop and improve payment operations processes to increase scalability, automation, accuracy, efficiency, and operational control. Establish and manage collections operations, including workflows, customer segmentation, escalation processes, vendor coordination, performance measurement, and continuous improvement. Partner with business process outsourcing (BPO) providers responsible for collections execution to ensure service quality and operational performance. Manage day-to-day relationships with payment processors, banks, collections providers, and other financial service partners. Define service-level agreements, monitor vendor performance, resolve operational issues, and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement. Develop operational dashboards and reporting covering payment performance, reconciliation accuracy, collections effectiveness, and other critical KPIs. Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and executive leadership on payment infrastructure improvements and operational initiatives. Support modernization projects, new operational launches, audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory readiness. Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, strengthen financial controls, improve reconciliation, and create more reliable end-to-end payment workflows. Provide operational leadership on complex payment issues and drive measurable improvements through structured problem-solving and continuous improvement. Requirements 7+ years of experience in payments operations, financial operations, fintech, banking, payments infrastructure, or a closely related field. Deep knowledge of ACH, card payments, settlements, reconciliation, ledgering, money movement, and transaction lifecycle management. Demonstrated experience owning and scaling payment operations in high-volume environments, including reconciliation, payment exceptions, refunds, reversals, financial controls, and operational risk management. Strong understanding of payment operations and the ability to translate complex workflows into scalable, efficient processes. Proven experience partnering across Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and external payment providers. Experience managing relationships with BPOs, payment processors, sponsor banks, gateways, and other financial service vendors. Strong analytical capabilities, with experience developing KPIs, dashboards, operational reporting, and data-driven recommendations. A track record of improving payment accuracy, resolving reconciliation challenges, strengthening controls, and increasing operational efficiency. Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to align teams around complex operational priorities. Demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset when managing critical financial operations. Ability to manage complexity, balance competing priorities, and drive initiatives from problem identification through implementation.
