Forward Deployed Engineer

Accountabilities:: Embed directly with customer environments, remotely or on-site, serving as the primary technical partner from discovery through delivery and acting as a hands-on escalation point for complex issues. Lead technical discovery sessions, customer discussions, solution scoping, workshops, and AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) assessments. Build rapid proofs of concept and working prototypes that demonstrate value, strengthen customer confidence, and help advance commercial opportunities. Design and implement AWS migration, modernization, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure solutions while remaining hands-on throughout the project lifecycle. Identify new engagement and account expansion opportunities, lead the technical component of the sales process, and contribute to closing new business. Develop level-of-effort estimates and detailed statements of work that translate technical discovery into clearly scoped customer engagements. Support and mentor team members on AWS solutions, migration approaches, and field engineering best practices. Stay current with AWS services, DevOps tooling, cloud technologies, and emerging technical solutions. Requirements: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, EKS, and ECS. Proven ability to lead technical customer conversations and translate business requirements into practical solutions that support commercial outcomes. Demonstrated experience leading AWS migration and modernization projects from initial discovery through implementation. Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodeSuite, or CircleCI. Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation. Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and modern cloud architecture principles. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues in real time while working directly with customers. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. AWS Professional or Specialty certifications are strongly preferred. Experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, pre-sales, or cloud consulting with a commercial component is highly valued. Experience with data, machine learning, or AI technologies, as well as a track record of contributing to account growth or revenue generation, is a strong advantage. Comfortable combining hands-on infrastructure engineering with customer-facing leadership, commercial discussions, and ownership of business outcomes.
