Accountabilities:: Support the z/OS operating system and associated utilities within critical mainframe environments. Develop and maintain applications using Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or higher. Design, develop, and maintain CICS transactions, including applications requiring multithreading capabilities. Work across both online and batch processing environments. Develop and maintain database solutions using relational database technologies, particularly DB2 and CA-IDMS. Develop database routines using DB2 Native Stored Procedures. Work with VSAM files and investigate application or system issues using DUMP analysis. Perform application and database performance analysis within z/OS environments. Apply database modeling and business modeling practices using CA-GEn 8+. Work with CICS control tools and access interfaces, including CICS/WEB, Broker, and MQ Series. Contribute to service-oriented architecture initiatives and the development of scalable enterprise solutions. Support the adoption and implementation of DevOps tools, technologies, and practices. Promote code quality and maintainability across development activities. Analyze technical requirements and contribute to solutions that align with business and operational needs. Requirements: Proven professional experience working with IBM mainframe environments and z/OS. Strong knowledge of z/OS operating system support and associated utilities. Experience performing application and database performance analysis in z/OS environments. Advanced programming experience with Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or later. Hands-on experience developing CICS transactions, including multithreading. Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and practical experience with DB2 and CA-IDMS. Experience developing DB2 Native Stored Procedures. Experience working with VSAM files and analyzing DUMPs. Knowledge of database modeling and business modeling using CA-GEn 8 or later. Understanding of DevOps tools and technologies, with an interest in applying modern development and delivery practices to mainframe environments. Ability to work independently, organize priorities, and manage responsibilities with limited supervision.
