Employment and Compliance Counsel

Accountabilities:: Advise People and other internal stakeholders on a broad range of U.S. and global employment law matters, including employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, equity, compensation, benefits, contingent workers, employee classification, and global mobility. Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including employment and severance agreements. Support and manage internal investigations involving employee misconduct, policy or legal violations, employee disputes, and potential litigation. Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing review of workplace policies, compliance programs, processes, and legal guidance. Develop and deliver company-wide training on employment, workplace, and compliance topics. Coordinate with external legal counsel across the United States and other jurisdictions when specialized or local legal advice is required. Build scalable legal processes while maintaining a strong focus on internal client service and stakeholder satisfaction. Collaborate with Legal and cross-functional teams on broader legal and compliance initiatives, including ownership of employee compliance policies. Assess legal and business risks and provide practical, commercially appropriate recommendations aligned with the organization's risk tolerance. Develop a strong understanding of the organization's products, services, operations, and business model to provide context-aware legal advice. Contribute to an environment where emerging technologies and AI-enabled workflows are used thoughtfully to improve efficiency while maintaining quality, accountability, and sound legal judgment. Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. 4–6 years of relevant legal experience, including experience at a top-tier law firm and/or within a technology, SaaS, data services, or similar business environment. Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar. Strong expertise in U.S. employment law, with experience handling global employment matters. Demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic, commercially minded legal advice while balancing business objectives and legal risk. Excellent attention to detail, organization, critical thinking, and professional judgment. Strong ability to identify, anticipate, and mitigate legal risks and determine when issues should be escalated. Proven ability to independently own projects and matters while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with sensitive employee and workplace matters. Ability to remain thoughtful, patient, and composed while managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information and investigations. Experience advising executives at high-growth technology companies is a plus. Familiarity with or interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, digital assets, or related regulatory issues is a plus. Curiosity and willingness to learn and use emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools as part of modern legal workflows. Benefits: Competitive base salary of $220,000–$270,000 annually .
