Director of AV Operations

Accountabilities: Own day-to-day field operations across the AV/EV segment, translating business strategy and customer requirements into effective operational execution. Lead, develop, and hold accountable Senior Managers, Regional Managers, Fleet Managers, technicians, and other field personnel across multiple geographic markets. Drive operational performance across safety, quality, customer satisfaction, fleet availability, technician productivity, staffing, service levels, and efficiency. Establish and manage operational KPIs, technician utilization, repair-order performance, staffing attainment, customer SLAs, and financial targets. Ensure markets are properly staffed, trained, equipped, and operationally prepared to meet customer demand, including 24/7 service requirements where applicable. Build a strong culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement. Partner with Recruiting and Training on workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, technical readiness, leadership development, and organizational growth. Serve as a senior escalation point for customers and field leadership, coordinating timely resolution of service, operational, and performance issues. Lead operational execution for new customer launches, market expansions, fleet ramps, transitions, and deployment of new vehicle platforms. Partner cross-functionally to identify and remove operational barriers while continuously improving processes, performance, and scalability. Maintain financial discipline across labor, overtime, travel, third-party spending, inventory, billing, and overall P&L performance. Monitor performance against safety, customer, workforce, operational, quality, retention, and financial objectives, taking corrective action when necessary. Requirements 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, preferably within fleet maintenance, automotive, transportation, EV, AV, or another complex multi-site operating environment. Demonstrated experience leading large, geographically dispersed organizations through multiple layers of management. Strong operational and financial acumen, including experience managing KPIs, budgets, productivity metrics, and P&L performance. Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance operations; experience with EV systems, high-voltage systems, diagnostics, ADAS, or autonomous vehicles is preferred. Proven ability to build high-performing teams, develop leaders, establish accountability, and foster a performance-oriented culture. Strong customer orientation with the ability to balance customer expectations, operational requirements, workforce considerations, and financial objectives. Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a proactive, data-driven, resilient, and resourceful approach. Ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling, and continuously evolving environment. Experience leading operational change, new market launches, business expansions, fleet growth, or implementation of new technologies is highly valuable. Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support customers, field teams, launches, and operational priorities; the role anticipates approximately 50–75% travel.
