About the Strategy and Transformation team

The Strategy & Transformation team helps Stripe’s largest and most strategic users define and execute high-impact business and technology transformations. We work early in the customer lifecycle, alongside account teams and senior customer leaders, to connect business ambition with a practical path to value on Stripe. The team has established foundational Strategy & Transformation Consultant coverage across regions. We are now adding specialist advisors who bring differentiated expertise to the enterprise conversations where Stripe’s role must be understood not simply as a payments provider, but as an integrated financial backbone within a customer’s broader commerce and technology ecosystem.

About the role

As a Strategy & Transformation Advisor, Enterprise Commerce Architecture, you will be the senior strategic advisor for complex enterprise commerce transformations, Stripe integration engagements & pursuits across AMER. You will support and advise integration teams and our users on the most complex multi product Stripe integration engagements. Additionally, you will help customers develop a clear, prescriptive point of view on how Stripe should integrate into their future-state architecture — and what that means for their commerce platforms, order-management systems, ERP and finance estate, customer and loyalty systems, identity, data platforms, fulfillment operations, and engineering organization. You will partner with broader GTM, Solutions Architecture, and Product teams to increase customer confidence in Stripe’s ability to support consequential enterprise transformations. You will engage senior technical and business stakeholders, including CTOs, CIOs, Chief Architects, VP Engineering, and digital or commerce leaders, translating their strategic priorities into an enterprise commerce architecture, sequenced transformation roadmap, and clear implementation principles. 

You will have the opportunities to define the strategic architectural “what” and “why”: the target state, key design principles, trade-offs, dependencies, and path to value. You will also provide technical advisory support to Stripe’s Integration engineers, Solution Architects and Strategy & Transformation Consultants on the most complex opportunities.

What you will do

Lead architecture advisory for complex enterprise Stripe deployments

• Serve as a senior post-sales architecture advisor to a portfolio of global enterprise users with complex, multi-product Stripe integrations, helping them evolve from an initial solution vision to durable target-state integration and architecture decisions, supported by transformation roadmaps.
• Partner with Integration Engineers, Implementation Consultants, Engagement Managers, Account Executives, and Strategy & Transformation Consultants to shape post-sales architecture engagements and provide senior guidance, while detailed solution design and implementation delivery remain with the appropriate Stripe teams.
• Advise user technical teams on architecture-level decisions across the broader enterprise commerce, finance, and data landscape—including system-of-record boundaries, API and event design, data ownership, reconciliation, operational resilience, security and risk considerations, and organizational readiness.
• Act as an escalation and thought partner for complex enterprise architecture questions during implementation, expansion, and major evolution of Stripe integrations, translating technical trade-offs across Stripe products into clear decisions, dependencies, and business outcomes for customer and Stripe stakeholders.
  
  

Shape enterprise commerce transformation strategy

• Lead executive discovery, strategy and architecture workshops for Stripe’s most strategic enterprise prospects and users.
• Assess a customer’s current commerce and technology landscape, identifying how payments and financial infrastructure interact with commerce, order management, ERP and finance, CRM, loyalty, identity, data, fulfillment, and risk systems and develop a prescriptive future-state point of view for how Stripe can serve as a financial backbone within that architecture.
• Translate business objectives—such as international expansion, omnichannel commerce, marketplace growth, subscription transformation, cost optimization, improved authorization performance, or faster product development—into clear architecture and operating-model implications.
• Define the enterprise-level principles, system boundaries, ownership models, integration patterns, data flows, and migration considerations needed to support the target state.
• Create multi-phased, dependency-aware transformation roadmaps that connect Stripe capabilities to measurable business outcomes.

Increase confidence in strategic enterprise pursuits

• Partner with account teams, enterprise service managers, sales leaders, and senior solutions architects to identify pursuits where enterprise commerce architecture expertise will materially improve customer confidence or decision quality.
• Engage credibly with executive technical stakeholders as a strategic advisor and peer, not as a product vendor.
• Help customers understand the practical trade-offs between their current architecture and a future state that uses Stripe more deeply.
• Create clear executive narratives, architecture artifacts, transformation roadmaps, and decision materials that make Stripe’s role in the customer’s future state concrete.
• Support account strategy, opportunity shaping, and value articulation for complex, multi-product enterprise pursuits.
• Help define the path from initial architecture vision to implementation scope, while ensuring detailed solution design and delivery ownership remain with the appropriate Stripe teams.

Inform Stripe’s enterprise strategy and product direction

• Bring recurring customer architecture patterns, friction points, and unmet needs back to Product, Engineering, and GTM leadership.
• Identify emerging enterprise commerce trends—including AI-enabled commerce and financial operations, omnichannel experiences, embedded finance, platform business models, and global expansion—and translate them into relevant Stripe points of view.
• Contribute to Stripe’s differentiated perspective on enterprise commerce transformation through internal thought leadership and selective customer-facing content.

Minimum qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, digital transformation, management consulting, or senior technical advisory roles.
• Significant experience advising large enterprises on complex technology transformation, ideally spanning commerce, payments, financial systems, or customer-facing platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with C-suite and VP-level business and technical leaders.
• Deep understanding of enterprise commerce architecture, including relevant systems such as commerce platforms, order management, ERP and finance, CRM, loyalty, identity, fulfillment, and cloud data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of API-first integration, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, cloud platforms, data flows, and enterprise operational models.
• Working knowledge of payments and financial infrastructure, including acceptance, acquiring, settlement, reconciliation, fraud and risk, compliance, and multi-party payment models.
• Ability to connect architecture decisions to business outcomes such as revenue growth, conversion, authorization performance, operational efficiency, resilience, cost, and speed to market.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to make complex architecture decisions understandable to executive audiences.
• Demonstrated experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional strategic engagements from initial discovery through a practical recommendation and roadmap

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Stripe or comparable payments and financial-infrastructure platforms.
• Experience in enterprise retail, marketplaces, platforms, SaaS, travel, media, mobility, or other complex commerce environments.
• Experience across omnichannel commerce, global payment methods, subscriptions, B2B payments, marketplaces, embedded finance, or platform monetization models.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and methods, such as capability modeling, value-stream analysis, domain-driven design, and transformation roadmapping.
• Experience advising on data architecture, reconciliation, risk and fraud operations, AI-enabled financial operations, or commerce personalization.
• A track record of coaching senior technical practitioners and influencing cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
• External credibility through senior customer advisory work, industry speaking, publications, or contributions to enterprise technology or payments communities.
