Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Stripe Press publishes ideas for progress in technology, science, and economics because we believe that for many of the most significant breakthroughs in each of these categories, the key ingredient is ideas. The Stripe Press team is effectively a startup within Stripe; we have an unusual amount of autonomy and the trust of Stripe’s leadership team.

Our bar for publishing is high, and our list is small—by design. We’d rather publish fewer books than publish books we’re not passionate about and that we don’t think will challenge and galvanize our audience, which is global, fiercely curious, and shares our exacting standards.

What you’ll do

Stripe Press is seeking a Managing Editor to own the editorial development and execution of its publishing program. You will guide intellectually ambitious nonfiction from acquisition through final proofs and production-ready handoff, upholding Press’s standards for rigor, clarity, accuracy, and editorial distinction.

This role calls for exceptional editorial judgment and project management skills. You will work closely with Stripe Press’s editors, production manager, designers, authors, agents, and external specialists. You will also help build the systems and contributor network needed to support a growing list without compromising quality.
