Lab Associate

Position Overview:

The Temporary Lab Support Associate plays a vital role in supporting fast-paced Research and Development (R&D) and large-scale development laboratories. As part of the Laboratory Operations team, this role ensures the laboratory operates safely, efficiently, and without interruption to enable ongoing scientific advancements. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in dynamic environments and actively anticipates laboratory needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory & Procurement Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of laboratory supplies, including the procurement, receiving, auditing, and restocking of consumables, reagents, high-value assets, and safety supplies. Prepare and aliquot critical reagents as needed while maintaining optimal inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.

• Operational & Logistics Support: Monitor and manage the daily laboratory ticketing queue, fulfilling diverse requests from research personnel in a timely manner. Manage facility package flow, including receiving, breaking down, sorting, and transporting pallets and incoming shipments across buildings.

• EHS & Safety Compliance: Conduct routine lab safety walkthroughs and inspections to ensure strict adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Set up, monitor, and handle satellite waste streams, including biohazardous and hazardous chemical waste disposal.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Upkeep: Partner closely with EHS, R&D, and cross-functional teams to maintain open communication and smooth workflows. Organize and facilitate routine lab cleanup events to promote a safe, clean, and structured environment.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned by the supervisor or laboratory management to support operational needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working in a laboratory setting.

• Technical Proficiency: Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications; experience with internal ticketing or inventory systems is a plus.
