The Community You Will Join:

The Offline Design team shapes what makes an Airbnb Experience worth traveling for. Our Curation team sets and upholds the quality bar for Experiences globally, translating taste into repeatable systems that scale across markets. This role reports to the Director of Experience Design and partners closely with Supply Acquisition, Product Marketing, Market Management, Demand, Growth Marketing, Research, and Enterprise Operations to strategize and bring Experiences to life around the world.

The Difference You Will Make:

As the Global Initiatives Curator, you will lead new, first-of-their-kind initiatives that scale the Curation team's impact in step with the needs of the Experiences business. You will solve complex, cross-functional problems, then brief the Curation team on how to action the solutions globally and at scale. Success looks like a unified quality bar across markets, a clear architecture for the types of Experiences we offer, new markets launched with consistent processes, and AI-enabled tools that make the team's taste repeatable at scale.

A Typical Day:

• Store design & quality: Maintain the quality bar of sourced Experiences globally, and unify the quality of co-designed Experiences with the Supply Acquisition team across regions.
• Market launches & experiences strategy: Support new market launches with unified processes, identify supply categories based on demand, store performance, and external signals, and surface strategic differentiation bets across global markets.
• Experiences architecture & storytelling: Define the architecture and criteria for types of Experiences. Craft the narrative for new supply types to leadership, and cascade it to internal teams.
• Scale learnings globally: Identify new experiences opportunities to prototype based on regional observations, spot strengths in individual markets, and scale those learnings to others.
• Build with AI: Partner with Research and Enterprise Operations to build AI tools that unify the Curation team's processes and codify taste at scale.
• Curate for moments & channels: Partner with Product Marketing to imagine and test future curation possibilities in product. Curate the highest-quality, most differentiated supply into collections for Airbnb launch moments  and advise on merchandising to maximize both direct bookings and brand recognition.

Your Expertise:

• Experience: 12+ years across a mix of product marketing, marketing, creative direction, and experience design at a large-scale or tech company, with 4+ years leading and briefing teams to deliver work.
• Global & cross-functional leadership: Experience working on a global product and leading a global team, with a strong record of cross-functional collaboration and coordinating across time zones.
• Taste & cultural fluency: A high level of taste shaped by brands known for it, and the cultural fluency to adapt a brief or strategy to different audiences and markets.
• Strategic problem solving: Ability to break complex challenges into simple, actionable steps, with a track record of building strategic frameworks and briefs that teams can execute.
• 0-to-1 leadership: Experience leading 0-to-1 initiatives in a highly cross-functional environment, with comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing strategy in a fast-moving culture.
• Communication & narrative: Strong verbal and written communication, with experience building presentations that carry ideas from ideation to execution with senior leadership.
• Self-direction & emerging tech: Ability to self-organize and proactively create processes, move fast with incomplete information, and quickly learn new AI tools and platforms.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience.

Your Location:

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant will need to be based in San Francisco, CA to be able to conduct their work. Currently, employees can not be located in: Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware And Rhode Island.
