Head of Accounting (m/f/d) - Frankfurt am Main (hybrid)

Your mission The Head of Accounting is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant accounting across all Matrix42 entities while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including general and sub-ledger activities, manages the month-end closing process and related analyses, supports the preparation of statutory financial statements, and drives continuous improvement within the accounting function. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing international accounting team across multiple locations, fostering professional growth and operational excellence. Oversee the timely preparation of high quality consolidated financials statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in accordance with IFRS. Ensure the accurate and timely recording of journal entries, including revenue recognition in compliance with applicable accounting standards. Support the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, IFRS reporting packages, and audit deliverables for the group audit. Drive the standardization and continuous improvement of accounting policies, controls, and processes across all Group entities. Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for banks, shareholders, investors, and other key stakeholders. Act as primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors as well as other external and internal parties; especially Treasury, Tax and FP&A/Controlling Manage and oversee the month-end closing process, including variance analysis and reporting Ensuring the timely reconciliation and alignment of intercompany positions Establish, maintain and continuously enhance audit guidelines & processes Your profile MUST HAVE University degree in business administration or accounting 10+ years professional experience 3+ years of management experience with teams of 10-15 FTE spread across several locations in different countries Experienced in preparing IFRS Group Financial Statements as well as stand-alone financial statements according to IFRS and HGB Strong in VAT knowledge, Excel and in-depth knowledge of ERP systems Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to work with remote teams Business Fluent in German and English (Finish or Polish or any other language will be a plus) NICE TO HAVE Knowledge of LucaNet Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite Knowledge of another local GAAP Our Benefits We could tell you all about the free fruit and drinks in the office, that you will have flexible working hours, 25 -30 vacation Days (depending of the location) or that remote work is part of everyday life.
