Sr Process Safety Engineer, Global Process Safety Engineering, Workplace Health & Safety

The Workplace Health and Safety Technical Solutions Team seeks an accomplished Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead global initiatives in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Safety Engineering. Basic qualifications: - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - Experience with fire and building codes and standards, including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), FM Global standards, International Fire Code (IFC) and the Comprehensive International Building Code (IBC) - Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Process safety Engineering - 6+ years of Process safety engineering experience while working in Manufacturing industry with design, installation and commissioning. - Skilled in identifying and evaluating risk across Amazon's HHC infrastructure with the aid of P&ID. - 6+ years of experience in conducting PHA along with LOPA and FMEA with the aid of tolls like PHA Pro, PHA works etc,. - Experience working on consequence modeling, quantitative risk analysis and dispersion analysis, specifically PHAST, ALOHA, FLACS, or equivalent - Demonstrated experience of working with Safety Instrumented Systems engineering, including SIL determination, SIF specification, and IEC 61511 application - Experience of working with Relief system design, including overpressure scenario development, PSV sizing, and API 521 application Preferred: - Masters Degree in Chemical or Process safety engineering - 10 + years of leadership experience in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or process safety engineering roles within the chemical, energy, or oil and gas sectors. - Extensive expertise in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies, including HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, and FTA, with strong proficiency in process safety software and Mechanical integrity evaluation including API 510/570/653 and ASME BPVC Section VIII. - 10+ years of experience with incident investigation methodologies such as Apollo, Tap Root, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), complemented by expertise in auditing practices. - Experience with the interpretation and application of global regulatory frameworks, including OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, Seveso Directive/COMAH, and equivalent standards. - Experience of working with Alternative energy systems including hydrogen, ammonia, biofuels, and Battery Energy Storage - Experience in developing and implementing foundational elements of Process Safety Management Systems (PSMS) in accordance with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP). - Skilled with Control system architecture review covering DCS, PLC, and ESD, Alarm management - Demonstrated experience of Facility siting and occupied building assessment per API 752/753 Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
