Software Development Engineer II, Identity and Registry, AWS IoT Core

To get there, we build AI solutions that improve human capabilities and transform entire Basic qualifications: - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles Preferred: - Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems - Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings - Master's degree or above in Computer Science or other related discipline - Experience with IoT protocols and standards (MQTT, TLS/mTLS, X.509 certificates) - Familiarity with device identity management, provisioning workflows, or PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) - Knowledge of security best practices including authentication, authorization, encryption at rest/in transit, and credential rotation - Experience designing and operating registry-style services (metadata stores, device/asset catalogs) at high throughput and low latency - Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases at scale, including data modeling and performance tuning - Familiarity with API design (REST, gRPC) and building public-facing service APIs with backward compatibility - Experience with operational excellence practices — monitoring, alarming, on-call, runbook authoring - Exposure to load balancing, traffic shaping, or deployment strategies - Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical projects end-to-end Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
