Senior Safety Engineer, Workplace Health & Safety

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) organization is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with Amazon Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure new Basic qualifications: - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - Bachelor's degree in Engineering - 6+ years of experience in safety engineering programs in manufacturing or production environment - 6+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience - Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements - Knowledge and understanding of certification bodies for approvals that comply with local, national and international regulations - Knowledge of international and EU/NA Standards such as EU Machinery Directive, ISO, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA - Working knowledge and experience with National Recognized Test Laboratory (NRTL) and Notified Bodies. - Knowledge of the core business systems and/or broad understanding of company systems/ technologies (relevant to safety engineering) Preferred: - Master’s degree preferred - Mechanical, Structural, Electrical or Industrial Engineer - CSME or other functional safety certification - Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines - Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities - Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication - Experience working with fast-moving, high-performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
