Senior Manager, Energy Public Policy - US West, AWS Public Policy

The AWS Public Policy team is paving the way for the future of data center power supply and industry leading carbon-free energy procurement through engagement with policymakers, grid operators and other Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development) - 12+ years of relevant public policy and advocacy experience - Demonstrated expertise in policy research and strategy development - The ability to travel based on business need Preferred: - Master's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development) - Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization - Experience building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation - Experience leading energy policy initiatives in the Western United States - Experience representing an energy company, working as or for a policymaker and/or regulator on energy issues, or representing an energy trade association. - Demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at highest corporate, federal, state and local government levels. - Familiarity with environmental policy, water infrastructure and climate issues.
