Senior Construction Project Manager, EMEA Construction (Substations)

Amazon's High Voltage (HV) infrastructure assets are industry leading examples of highly efficient, resilient, and sophisticated electrical systems. We are the global team responsible for building the Basic qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering. - 7+ years of recent experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale electrical systems or power plants. - Understand electrical engineering principles for power systems. - General contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders) associated with construction and project execution. Preferred: - Experience directly related to the design and construction of power infrastructure or large scale mechanical and electrical plants. - Experience with large scale technical operations, mission-critical mechanical/electrical infrastructure, or large-scale compute farms. - Experience dealing with location-specific electricity utility providers. - Experience of risk and change management through procurement, delivery and handover of design and build projects. - Experience of leading contract and commercial negotiations and administration of design and build projects. - Experience of monitoring contract dates and deliverables to keep project on track and help mitigate any potential issues before they develop into significant problems. - Able to effectively communicate with team members, senior management and leadership across organisation to keep all relevant stakeholders up to date with important contract information. - Experience in negotiating easements/wayleaves with land owners, utilities, etc. - Value engineering: Proven ability to reduce costs through creative solutions with no impact on quality and reliability (new designs, technology, or construction methods). - Experience in construction and commissioning of power infrastructure projects. - Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM). - Possess clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to use data to justify conclusions Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
