Hardware Reliability Engineer, Amazon Leo - Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL)

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, material engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields - Industry experience with reliability engineering principles and methodologies, including reliability models (e.g. Weibull), statistical analysis, fault tree analysis, highly accelerated life testing (HALT), highly accelerate stress screening (HASS), accelerated life testing (ALT), and reliability demonstration testing (RDT) - Experience with failure analysis techniques and root cause investigation - Experience with data analysis and scripting (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent) Preferred: - Master's degree or above in engineering or equivalent - Experience with optics, opto-electronics, or optical communication systems - Experience with system-level reliability concepts, including reliability block diagrams and system availability modeling - Familiarity with industry reliability standards (e.g., Telcordia GR-468, MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-810, JEDEC, IEC 61709) - Knowledge of space or LEO environmental requirements (thermal vacuum, radiation, atomic oxygen, outgassing) - Prior experience in a hardware reliability or component engineering role within the optical communications or aerospace industry - New Product Introduction (NPI) or manufacturing process qualification experience - Strong written and verbal communication skills Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
