Embedded Software Manager, Mobile Robotics

Come lead the embedded software team behind the world's largest fleet of mobile robots — and behind the next generation of them. Your team's software runs on more than a million robots working around the Basic qualifications: - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 3+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience - 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience leading the development of embedded, real-time, or safety-critical systems Preferred: - Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers - Experience in tools for custom embedded Linux distribution creation such as Yocto, and familiarity in developing and debugging Linux kernel - Experience sustaining a large fleet of deployed devices, including over-the-air firmware update, telemetry, and remote diagnostics at scale - Experience at the boundary between embedded devices and cloud services (device connectivity, fleet management, or IoT platforms) - Familiar developing in a safety standards controlled environment such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
