Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented junior lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry providing IT infrastructure services Basic qualifications: - Law degree (L.L.B., J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university and/or law school. - Admitted to practice law in Australia or New Zealand. - 2+ years of post-admission legal experience at a top national or international law firm, in-house, or government agency, preferably with experience in emerging technology matters (e.g. Intellectual Property, AI/ML, etc.). - Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts. - Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines. Preferred: - Complex contracting experience involving public sector customers (including government, state owned enterprises, NGOs, healthcare, and educational institutions). - Sound written and oral communication, and client interaction skills. - Experience in public sector procurement and knowledge of Australian or New Zealand public procurement requirements. - Knowledge of Commonwealth security regulations (e.g. the Protective Security Policy Framework and Information Security Manual). - Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability).
