Applied Science Manager, Amazon Robotics

The Manipulation Robotics Organization at Amazon Robotics is at the forefront of building adaptable and intelligent robotics and manipulating capabilities for Amazon’s fulfillment centers. We have developed Basic qualifications: - PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field, or Master's degree and 4+ years of industry or academic research experience - 6+ years of applied research experience - 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience - Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application - Experience hiring and growing top talent - Strong understanding of robotics, computer vision and machine learning (Grasping, 3D Geometry, classical computer vision and deep neural networks) Preferred: - Experience building complex software systems, especially involving deep learning, machine learning and computer vision, that have been successfully delivered to customers Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
