Title and Summary Vice President, Settlement & Currency Services Overview: Settlement & Currency Services is Mastercard’s center of expertise for global settlement, cross-border payments, currency and foreign exchange services, and value movement across traditional and digital financial networks. The team supports initiatives related to fiat and digital currencies, settlement infrastructure, and emerging payment technologies, working across products, markets, and functions to advance strategic priorities. The team also develops solutions that enable funds movement between Mastercard customers, engages with regulators and manages relationships with commercial and central banks. Mastercard is seeking an execution-focused Vice President, Settlement & Currency Services to lead settlement and FX capability development and implementation across AP & EEMEA. This role will prioritize regional initiatives, support regulatory reporting requirements, and help manage responses to regulatory inquiries. Responsibilities: • Conducting thorough analysis to assess the financial, operational, regulatory, customer, and system impacts and requirements needed to support settlement/FX initiatives • Collaborating with the global team on strategic efforts such as introducing new settlement and FX enhancements in AP & EEMEA region • Partnering with business units to strategize, develop and implement enhancements to settlement service offerings, ensuring alignment with market needs and operational capabilities • Driving initiatives to ensure liquidity availability for settlement in AP & EEMEA region • Engaging with regulators, central banks, and other stakeholders in AP & EEMEA region to manage regulatory audits and inquiries related to Settlement and FX and staying abreast of regulatory changes and legal developments • Overseeing the timely and accurate preparation and submission of regulatory reports related to Settlement activities, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements across jurisdictions • Managing global settlement invoice processing including establishing new vendors, routing invoices for approvals/payment through Oracle, and triaging processing issues • Ensuring that all project aspects are compliant with Mastercard policies and procedures • Formulating and presenting strategic recommendations to executive management All About You: • Educational qualification: MBA or a degree in business or finance • Proven track record in payment systems product/project management, including the implementation and maintenance of external systems or proprietary technology • Demonstrated ability in leading high-impact transformation initiatives with strong project management and stakeholder management skills across global and cross-functional teams • Advanced level of expertise in Treasury settlements / payment operations and banking infrastructure gained through experiences in multinational corporates’ Regional/Global Treasury centers, financial institutions or banks • Proficient in payment network systems, including authorization, clearing, and settlement, and bank connectivity solutions like Host-to-host and SWIFT • Significant experience managing regulatory correspondence on Settlement/Payment matters. Experience with payments‑related regulatory compliance requirements across APAC and EEMEA regulators like MAS, HKMA, ASIC, JFSA, RBI, PBOC, SARB is highly valuable while not mandatory • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to initiate and implement the needed changes to achieve business unit /corporate objectives • Ability to think creatively and out-of-the box; ability to challenge the status quo; demonstrated ability to innovate • Strong leadership qualities, including getting work done through others, being organizationally savvy, thought leadership • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team with varying skillsets • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to work and communicate cross-functionally • Management style that is proactive towards employee development Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
