Job Description Serve as a conduit to the organization's data, working closely with stakeholders to provide data solutions that help the business make strategic decisions. Based on the business needs and requirement, perform complex analysis to determine an overall data solution. Participate in data profiling, analysis, design documentation and communication with business partners. Perform testing and issue resolution, working closely with the development teams.Responsible for system administration, business production support, design and build of new templates and functionalities on systems supported within the team. Solve organizational information problems and needs through identification and analysis of requirements, creation of project and process specifications, design and development of the output. Key Responsibilities Gather business information and incorporate information into project plans with project manager or leadWork on process improvements and complex projects in identifying business and system requirements, creating project and process specifications for new and/or enhanced systems and drive quantifiable results through facilitating interaction with the business unit. Analyzing the work request to provide high level of time estimation. Assist BA in preparation of BRD and URD, create Design Doc and Data spec, Report development and perform Smoke testing on the developed reports. Perform and/or support system administration tasks including but not limited to: - Change Management - Maintenance and Monitoring of the applications - Install and upgrading of software - Back-ups and archives - Configuration and troubleshooting - Maintain documentations (new user’s guide, policy and procedure documents, disaster recovery plans, administrative procedures, user access) - Help and educate users - Base-lining and application capacity monitoring. Assist with gathering requirements across business partners and develop test execution plans. Support small to medium scale projects. Also, provide support on VRS development and SQL development tasks to the business unit. Create and test applications, as well as trouble-shoot and resolve routine and medium to less-complex problems for the business unit as it relates to business requirements and technology. Attend / conduct team meetings, leader's regular meetings, trainings, coaching, leading initiatives for the business and other admin responsibilities associated to the team and function. oversight the work of developers and guide them. Support and solve a variety of complex system and system-related problems for the business unit and liaise with technology peers, as it relates to business requirements, technology, in addition to design, development or implement systems. Develop expertise in all systems, processes and data relating to the assigned business or project. Leverage domain expertise and analyst practice expertise to provide the most effective solutions to the business partners in the most efficient means possible. Educate business partners on systems capabilities and the feasibility of developing specific solutions. Leverage technical knowledge and business acumen to manage effective working relationships with technology teams and business partners. Work effectively in a team environment to ensure that solution delivery is on-time, within cost estimates and meets business needs. Negotiate technical and non-technical solutions that both satisfy the business users and conform to the technical architecture. Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of data analysis best practices, using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness of the overall analyst organization. Provide subject matter expertise in areas including strategy/approach, domain/data knowledge, use cases and other areas of expertise based on established data analysis tools and techniques. Partner with data governance and analytical domain owners, ensuring attribute logic/design is appropriately logged and reviewed as required. Document metadata, including business and technical details, for each attribute being created or updated. Strive for quality data by documenting data quality issues found during profiling and analysis activities. Partner with the development team for resolution on quality issues, including root cause analysis when required. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar field; or equivalent work experience. 7-10 years of relevant experience required. 4+ years of demonstrated development experience on Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS) 6+ years of demonstrated experience in business and functional requirements elicitation, translation and documentation. Strong analytic skills including ability to identify patterns, potential issues and then translate those into functional and test requirements. Solid understanding of business functional areas and business management issues as well as the IT organizations systems and capabilities. Knowledge of and ability to effectively use the appropriate modeling methodologies and tool-sets, requirements management methodologies and tool-sets, requirements visualization methods and tool-sets, and artifact version tools. In depth knowledge of business operations and processes with the ability to articulate these processes to others. Experience with analysis planning, requirements elicitation, Report Development on VRS, test planning, creating test cases and test data, executing test scripts, implementation planning, and implementation execution. Preferred Qualifications Expert level understanding of industry concepts, terminology and related data in the financial industry. Experience of reports development from end to end on Vermilion (VRS). Experience in dimensional (star schema) data modeling, reporting (Power BI/Quick Sight preferred) and metadata management. Big data or cloud data integration and analytics experience (AWS preferred).
