Analog Devices is seeking a Staff Process Engineer to provide technical leadership for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing at its Wilmington, Massachusetts site. As a senior individual contributor, this role owns critical processes and equipment across BiCMOS, silicon photonics, and MEMS technologies; improves safety, quality, yield, throughput, cycle time, reliability, and cost; and supports the introduction and transfer of new process capabilities. The successful candidate will solve complex manufacturing problems, influence cross-functional decisions, and mentor engineers and technicians in support of safe, stable, and continuous operations. Key Responsibilities · Own assigned semiconductor process modules, layers, and equipment sets in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, stable, capable, and documented operations. · Lead continuous-improvement initiatives that increase yield, process capability, equipment utilization, throughput, and cycle-time performance while reducing defects, variability, and manufacturing cost. · Partner with Manufacturing, Equipment, Process Integration, Product, Quality, Facilities, and Development teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. · Lead structured investigations of yield excursions, process deviations, equipment events, and reliability concerns using 8D, FMEA, 5-Why, fault-tree analysis, or equivalent methods; implement and verify sustainable corrective and preventive actions. · Use statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability analysis, and data visualization to establish controls, optimize process windows, and identify systematic sources of variation. · Develop, qualify, and transfer new processes, materials, equipment, and manufacturing capabilities from development into volume production, including risk assessment, acceptance criteria, control plans, and release documentation. · Define and maintain process specifications, recipes, operating procedures, reaction plans, change controls, and troubleshooting guides; ensure consistent execution across shifts and engineering groups. · Review process and equipment performance indicators, prioritize improvement opportunities, and lead initiatives that deliver measurable operational and financial impact. · Mentor engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel through technical guidance, training, and knowledge sharing. Minimum Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Microelectronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master’s degree is preferred. · 8+ or years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, MEMS or BiCMOS fabrication, process sustaining, integration or process development. · Demonstrated ownership of one or more semiconductor process areas, such as thin-film deposition, epitaxy, ion implantation, diffusion. · Strong knowledge of semiconductor process integration, equipment interactions, process controls, and high-volume manufacturing practices. · Demonstrated success leading complex root-cause investigations and implementing durable corrective actions. · Working knowledge of SPC, DOE, FMEA, process capability analysis, and data-driven decision-making. · Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead cross-functional technical efforts in a dynamic manufacturing environment. · Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences. · Proficiency with analytical and visualization tools such as JMP, Spotfire, Klarity ACE, or equivalent platforms. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location , experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
