Job Requisition ID # 26WD101232 Position Overview Autodesk Platform Services and Emerging Technology – Product Access is looking for a talented Desktop Software Engineer to help build and evolve the platform capabilities that power Autodesk's Product Access domain. This team owns the core platform responsible for enabling secure, scalable, and reliable access to Autodesk products and services for millions of users and thousands of enterprise customers. In this role, you will develop cross-platform solutions for Windows, macOS, and Linux, solving meaningful engineering challenges while leveraging modern technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to improve our solutions and the way we work. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, reliable, and maintainable software across Windows, macOS, and Linux Investigate technical challenges and develop practical solutions with consideration for quality, performance, security, and maintainability Build automated tests and contribute to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices that enable frequent, high-quality releases Improve existing systems by simplifying solutions, addressing technical debt, and enhancing overall software quality Collaborate with teammates through technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews while contributing to sound engineering practices Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted development tools and capabilities to improve engineering workflows, automation, and productivity Take ownership of assigned work while communicating progress, risks, and technical challenges effectively Continuously develop technical knowledge and contribute to improvements across the Product Access platform Minimum Qualifications 1+ years of professional software development experience Experience with at least one programming language such as C++, Go, Rust, or Python Strong problem-solving skills with the initiative to investigate technical challenges, move work forward independently, and seek guidance when appropriate Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted development methods and tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent technologies Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including software design, testing, debugging, and maintainability Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience Experience developing cross-platform desktop software for Windows, macOS, or Linux Experience working with large, established codebases, including enhancing existing functionality and troubleshooting software issues Familiarity with automated testing and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices Experience contributing to collaborative software development through source control, code reviews, and technical discussions The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a curious and motivated Software Engineer who combines strong technical fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset to build reliable and high-quality software Applies software engineering principles and established best practices to solve technical problems of varying complexity Analyzes available solutions and uses sound judgment to select an appropriate technical approach Takes ownership of day-to-day assignments and works independently while seeking guidance for unfamiliar or complex situations Approaches technical challenges with curiosity and develops practical solutions that balance quality, performance, security, and maintainability Collaborates effectively with experienced engineers and incorporates feedback from design discussions and code reviews Builds knowledge of the Product Access domain, Autodesk technologies, products, and customer needs Demonstrates accountability by communicating progress, dependencies, and potential risks proactively Embraces Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted development while validating generated outputs for correctness, quality, security, and maintainability Continuously develops technical expertise and applies new knowledge to improve existing software and engineering practices Contributes positively to a collaborative engineering culture focused on quality, learning, and continuous improvement #LI-PW1 Learn More About Autodesk Welcome to Autodesk!
