We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Consultant to join our Cyber Security Operations team. In this role, you will primarily work after-hours shifts to complete day-to-day operational work, create and revise critical operational documentation, and continuously review security events. You will serve as support for the Executive Relations Team and act as a frontline monitor responsible for alerting leadership immediately if a critical security issue arises. This position requires scheduled after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage. Key Responsibilities After-Hours Operations & Monitoring: Complete core operational workflows and maintain continuous system and threat monitoring during after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage windows. Security Event Review & Critical Escalation: Monitor and review daily security events and operational logs. Immediately alert security leadership and relevant stakeholders upon identifying critical security issues, high-severity threats, or system anomalies. Executive Relations & Account Support: Support the Executive Relations Team with sensitive account requests and high-visibility escalations. Assist with account lock removals and account protection mechanisms, including SIM locks and port freezes. Documentation & Revision: Create, revise, and maintain operational documentation and conduct tasks related to account enrollment and de-enrollment processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with internal operational teams, Cyber Security, Corporate Security, and technical teams to route and resolve routine security escalations. Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve processes in the program operations, account security, and customer experience including ways to leverage AI to reduce unnecessary manual work. This position can be located in other valid Verizon locations. What we’re looking for... You’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience. Flexibility to work after-hours, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of primary coverage. Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating clear documentation and issuing timely alerts. Basic understanding of wireless/wireline communications, account servicing processes, account security principles and VCG and VBG operational structure. Even better if you have one or more of the following: Operations & Security Support Experience: Previous experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Network Operations Center (NOC), Fraud Operations, Corporate Security, or Cyber Security support environment. Document Control & Detail Orientation: Demonstrated ability to draft, edit, and organize technical or operational documentation under minimal supervision. Incident Handling & Escalation: Prior exposure to monitoring systems and escalating critical security or operational incidents to leadership teams. Where you’ll be working In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $78,000.00 - $150,000.00.
