Job Description Are you looking to join a forward-thinking sales organization with strong earning potential and long-term career growth? As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Thomson Reuters, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by generating qualified sales opportunities through outbound prospecting. You will engage decision-makers across the U.S. market, uncover business challenges and needs, and create valuable opportunities for Account Executives. This role is ideal for commercially driven professionals who enjoy building relationships, navigating complex B2B conversations, and developing a long-term career in sales. Key Responsibilities In this opportunity as a Sales Development Representative, you will: Generate new business opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting activities, including phone, email, and digital engagement. Identify customer needs, business challenges, and potential opportunities within target accounts. Build, develop, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through a structured prospecting approach. Partner closely with Account Executives to align sales strategies, coordinate outreach efforts, and maximize pipeline generation. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities and route them to the appropriate sales resources. Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales development targets and performance metrics. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospecting activities, opportunities, and customer interactions within CRM and sales tools. Develop a strong understanding of Thomson Reuters products and solutions to effectively communicate business value to prospective customers. Collaborate with Training, Marketing, and Account Management teams to support overall business objectives and customer engagement strategies. Required Qualifications You’re a fit for the role of Sales Development Representative if you have the following required qualifications: 2+ years of experience in B2B sales, prospecting, lead generation, business development, or a related customer-facing role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and influence stakeholders through phone, email, and virtual meetings. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and establish credibility quickly. Ability to confidently handle objections and navigate challenging conversations. Experience working in quota-driven environments with measurable performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). Intermediate computer proficiency, including experience using CRM systems and sales technology tools. Availability to work schedules that align with U.S. customer business hours. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. Previous experience in software, SaaS, technology, or subscription-based sales environments. Experience prospecting and selling into the U.S. market. Familiarity with structured sales methodologies and outbound prospecting best practices. Demonstrated success building and managing sales pipelines in a high-performance sales organization. Experience leveraging sales engagement platforms, CRM systems, and AI-enabled sales tools to improve productivity and results. #LI-ZM1 What’s in it For You?
