Manager, Business Development

Title and Summary Manager, Business Development Overview: Develop and grow Mastercard's business with leading companies across the Retail, Travel and other industries. Position Mastercard as the trusted strategic partner for key merchants and industry leaders. Build and manage executive-level relationships with major Retail organizations. Drive the commercialization of Mastercard solutions, including Co-brand Programs, Digital Solutions, Loyalty Solutions, and Marketing Services. Lead the execution and delivery of strategic initiatives and partnership agreements. Role: Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the Retail, Travel and other industries. Lead customer growth initiatives, including portfolio expansion, acquisition campaigns, product launches, loyalty programs, and emerging payment technology implementations. Build compelling value propositions and executive presentations to engage and acquire strategic merchant partners. Originate, negotiate, and execute commercial partnerships that deliver mutual business growth. Develop business cases and financial models to evaluate opportunities and support decision-making. Partner closely with internal teams including Product, Marketing, Services, Finance, and Digital Payments to develop winning solutions and ensure successful execution. Manage complex projects and stakeholder groups to deliver measurable business outcomes. Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, and emerging opportunities to drive Mastercard's growth agenda. All About You: Experience in the payments, financial services, retail, travel, or loyalty industries. Proven track record in business development, account management, strategic partnerships, or sales. Experience developing, launching, or managing co-brand card programs is highly desirable. Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build credibility with senior merchant stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrix organization. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable growth plans. Strong commercial acumen and experience developing business cases and evaluating investment opportunities. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences at all organizational levels. Fluent English and Spanish. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation tools. Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualifications are a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with large retail, travel, airline, hospitality, or e-commerce merchants. Strong understanding of card issuing, acquiring, loyalty, and digital payment ecosystems. Experience managing complex commercial negotiations and long-term strategic partnerships.
