Liquidity Management, Officer

We are offering an opportunity to join the Liquidity Management team, supporting the positioning and funding of State Street’s global nostro balances across the EMEA region. The Officer will oversee daily business-as-usual activity, provide direct support to the management team and act as a role model and first point of escalation for the wider team. The role requires clear communication, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and composed in a highly time-critical environment. Responsibilities Oversee the Liquidity Management team’s daily BAU activity, ensuring priorities, currency deadlines and operational risks are managed effectively. Provide and oversee forecasts of expected nostro-related cash activity and monitor direct clearing activity. Review and release funding calculations and payments, applying a high level of critical attention to detail. Act as a subject-matter expert and first point of escalation for complex cash-related investigations and operational issues. Provide direct support to the management team, field questions from colleagues and stakeholders, and deliver clear and accurate updates to senior management. Remain calm and composed in pressurised or time-critical situations, making sound and rational decisions. Demonstrate a proactive approach to cash funding and nostro forecasting to maximise net interest revenue and reduce exposure. Maintain awareness of matters affecting cash funding, including foreign exchange and interest-rate volatility. Maintain effective relationships with internal and external counterparts, including Treasury and Cash teams, client service groups, brokers, sub-custodians, agent banks and clearing schemes. Prepare and validate reports for delivery to management. Train team members and provide ongoing operational coaching, while supporting the manager’s wider development objectives. Maintain the team’s operating procedures and ensure they remain accurate and up to date. Deputise for the manager when required. Participate in projects as required, representing the business and ensuring operational requirements are understood. Skills and Experience At least five years of relevant banking, liquidity or cash management experience. Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred. Strong working knowledge of major financial instruments and products affecting cash flow. Sound understanding of securities transactions, individual market nuances and cash-related market deadlines. Demonstrable experience of reviewing and releasing high-value or time-critical payments and funding activity. Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify, challenge and resolve discrepancies before release. Ability to oversee multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and provide clear direction where appropriate. Decisive and composed, with demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to report effectively to senior management. Ability to investigate complex cash issues, explain findings clearly and drive matters through to resolution. Ability to train, coach and act as a positive role model for colleagues. Flexibility in work schedule. Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and an interest in their responsible use to improve productivity and operational efficiency are desirable. Proficient PC skills, with strong Microsoft Excel knowledge desirable.
