Lead Tooling Technician - 1st Shift

What Process Control and Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment. Process Control and Maintenance sets up and operates processing equipment to manufacture to established quality standards in order to meet production demands. Troubleshoots, repairs and conducts maintenance on equipment. Writes and executes equipment qualifications on all new or modified tooling or equipment to test and qualify items and provide documented proof that operations are within established parameters. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Shift Details 7:00 am to 3:00 pm - Monday to Friday Responsibilities Plans method and sequence of work for CNC machining operations by utilizing programming software through post processors or programming at the machine. Able to read, follow, draw 2D and or model 3-D blueprints in accordance to work orders and/or verbal instructions Perform mathematical calculations (Trigonometry) to ensure accuracy of precision set-ups, knowledgeable of speeds and feeds for different materials and/or tool settings for each operation as required. Sets-up various CNC, NC and manual machine(s), i.e. EDM, lathe, mill, hone, surface & ID/OD grinders, installs appropriate tool bit. Set-up, position, align and/or secure work on machine. Sets depth, speed, and length, et cetera controls. Starts and operates machine(s) to achieve desired function. Inspects work in-progress, verifies dimensions and tolerances, adjusts controls and/or changes cutting tools/holder/fixtures as required. Polish/hone finished work as required. Inspects work for conformance to specifications. Designs, builds and machines tools, jigs, and fixtures as required for each operation. Maintains machine bits, drills and holder fixtures inventories as required. Uses a variety of hand tools and all machine shop inspection devices, i.e. micrometers, caliper, depth gages, plug gates, et cetera. Qualifications 4+ years of experience, preferred High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred What is expected of you and others at this level Applies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignments Demonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has thorough knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignments May provide technical guidance and training to others Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications Works on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issue Makes recommendation for new or revised processes and has a role on the implementation Adheres to all quality guidelines Works with minimal degree of supervision Has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines Provides guidance to less experienced team members May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervised Anticipated hourly range : $23.80 - $37.18 per hour Bonus eligible : No Benefits : Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.
