Investments Risk Partner, VP I - State Street Investment Management

The Investment Risk position is a senior role within the SSIM Business Risk team. This person will work with a team of risk specialists to create, improve, and implement investment risk processes for SSIM. Functional responsibility will include providing risk oversight for portfolio exposures, covering a range of areas including equities, cash, fixed income, alternatives, with a focus on derivatives (options) risk quantification, oversight and reporting. This position requires the ability to grasp complex concepts coupled with a solid understanding of the various different asset classes and financial derivative instruments, risk measurement and analytics, quantitative modeling, and risk management techniques. The role involves interactions with SSIM investment teams globally, including portfolio management, product management, legal, and operations, depending on the task at hand. The position requires interaction with senior management, and ability to effectively communicate, in both written and verbal form, complex analytical processes to clients and regulators globally. The individual should be well versed in a wide range of quantitative methods and financial products, with a focus on options modeling. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work on independent projects with limited supervision as well as contribute in a team setting. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 8 - 10 years’ experience in risk management and/or risk systems in an asset management company. Strong knowledge of stress testing and securities markets in investment management, risk management, consulting, and/or an analytical systems. Strong understanding of portfolio construction, risk analytics, and investments involving options. Ability to recognize broad economic trends, determine risk implications beyond the portfolio level, and communicate the resulting risks. Experience with risk concepts and database tools are required, with specific skills in Factset considered a plus. Proven project management, team-building, interpersonal, and analytical skills Strong multitasking skills, ability to successfully manage a number of work streams to deadlines and standards of quality. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work with all levels of personnel across the organization, including senior executives. Ability to quickly adapt to relevant topics and themes in an evolving market environment. High degree of attention to detail and focus on efficient and error-free execution Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business-related field or equivalent experience. CFA or FRM a plus. Programming skills (R, VBA, Python) a plus. Salary Range: $120,000 - $202,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
