This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with national and international regulations, fostering a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement in HSE practices. Job Responsibilities:** * Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, and procedures in line with HITACHI ENERGY standards and Indian regulatory requirements. * Conduct regular HSE risk assessments, audits, and inspections across all company operations, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions. * Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventive measures to avoid recurrence. * Ensure all employees and contractors receive appropriate HSE training and awareness programs, promoting a proactive safety culture. * Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending strategic improvements. * Manage emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills and ensuring preparedness for potential incidents. * Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and other external stakeholders on HSE matters. * Oversee the management of hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental protection initiatives. * Promote employee engagement in HSE initiatives and champion a "zero-harm" philosophy. * Stay abreast of new HSE legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements to continually enhance the company's HSE performance. Job Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. * Recognized professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CHMM). * Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HSE management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the energy, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector. * In-depth knowledge of Indian HSE legislation and regulations (e.g., Factories Act, Environmental Protection Act, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001). * Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HSE programs and achieving measurable improvements in safety performance. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. * Proficiency in English and local languages relevant to operations. * Ability to travel to various company sites as required.
