Job Details: Job Description: The Role and Impact Are you interested in GPU and AI accelerator hardware and want hands-on experience designing and bringing new technology to life? As a GPU & AI Accelerator Hardware Design Undergraduate Intern , you will work alongside experienced engineers developing next-generation GPU and AI accelerator platforms. You will gain practical experience across PCB and board design, power delivery, circuit design, simulation, board bring-up, validation, debugging, and automation. This internship provides an opportunity to apply concepts learned through coursework, labs, research, and technical projects to real-world hardware challenges while collaborating with Intel's cross-functional engineering teams. What You’ll Do Depending on project and team needs, you mayhave the key responsibilities will include but not limited to : Support GPU and AI accelerator board and power design from concept through bring-up and validation. Assist with PCB schematic design, layout, component selection, and Bill of Materials (BOM) development. Learn to troubleshoot challenges involving high-speed board, power, digital, and analog design. Use engineering and simulation tools such as Cadence, Sigrity, SIMetrix, Mathcad, MATLAB, PowerDC, or similar tools. Participate in board bring-up, characterization, validation, and hardware debug. Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and thermal measurement equipment and support soldering/rework activities. Assist with evaluating power requirements and power-delivery solutions for GPU and AI accelerator designs. Develop or improve test methods and use Python or other scripting languages to automate measurements and data collection. Gain exposure to microcontroller and FPGA firmware design and debugging. Collaborate with board, layout, thermal-mechanical, validation, firmware, software, and other engineering teams. Research and evaluate technologies that can improve future hardware designs and engineering processes. Qualifications: You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research. Minimum Qualifications and Experience : Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or other relevant science/engineering related field. Candidate must also have 3+ months of educational or work experience with the following: Hardware design principles and PCB layout techniques. Experience with board bring-up, debugging tools, and electrical measurements. Design software such as Cadence, Altium, or similar tools. AI acceleration hardware and computing architectures. Preferred Qualifications and Experience : Discrete graphics add-in cards or mobile discrete graphics systems. Knowledge of current leading PC technology. Familiar with PC x86 architecture and excellent system level knowledge including CPU processor, multimedia, memory, PCIe, display technologies, power management, 3D graphics. Experience in building your own PC and computer hardware. Programming skills in Python or similar languages. Why Join Intel?
