Flight Software Engineer (Experienced/Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Flight Software Engineer (Experienced/Senior) to support our Flight Software Team located in El Segundo, CA or Mountain View, CA . This position will support the Boeing Defense Services ( BDS ) business organization. We are seeking a Software Engineer that is passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging Boeing commercial and government space programs. This exciting software engineer position requires demonstrated experience within the software ecosystem, a diverse background of project experience, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of multiple software programming projects. Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required. Position Responsibilities (P3): Design, Integrate, modify, test, and debug software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements for software products for embedded devices and systems Build and write code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware Integrate embedded software with hardware components Analyze, monitor and improve the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems Test and debug software for embedded devices and systems Drive software execution to deliver products on-cost and on-schedule to program Responsible for satellite and payload software safety, assurance, quality, and engineering excellence Produce design and test documentation and artifacts Conduct Cyber Vulnerability Analysis (CVA) for multiple processing platforms within the satellite vehicle architecture Design and implement cyber monitoring algorithms Design and write custom tools to support configuration automation and improve development workflow. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor’s Degree Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance post-start for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship 5+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python 5+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with the full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through Formal Qualification Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence Experience in embedded real-time software development Experience with Wireshark or other network analysis tools and Debuggers Experience automating software builds, unit tests, and integration tests using a DevOps tool chain Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
