Job Description This role utilizes analytical skills to create a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. National General is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to join our Claims team supporting the South San Diego territory. This is a remote, territory-based role that handles claims both virtually and in the field throughout the South San Diego area, including Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Mesa, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove, National City, Imperial Beach, and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and using CCC ONE estimating software to prepare accurate damage estimates while working closely with repair facilities and customers. Key Responsibilities • Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers • Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits • Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company • Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses Supervisory Responsibilities • This job does not have supervisory duties. As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
