Overview: Mastercard is looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join its Global Employee Relations team. Working closely with the People Business Partners, employment law, compliance and business stakeholders, the desired candidate will develop and leverage ER best practices and processes to support our culture of decency and fairness consistent with Mastercard values and local laws. The role will be based in London, Angel Lane on a hybrid work schedule (3 days per week in office). All About the Role • Provide expert advice to People Business Partners, managers and employees about company policies and processes • Partner with internal employment counsel, compliance and People Business Partners to effectively manage employee relations issues/investigations • Investigate concerns raised, including complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other work-related issues • Prepare investigative documentation, including interview notes and summary of findings • Prepare, track and maintain appropriate investigation and reorganization data and documentation • Use case management system to manage cases from intake to resolution • Provide and manage periodic reporting to relevant senior stakeholders • Establish strong cross-functional relationships at all levels and geographies • For the UK, Ireland and Europe region, provide sound ER advice and guidance to People Business Partners and managers on a range of ER topics such as performance management, merger and acquisition, TUPE, disciplinary processes, absence management and managing risk in termination of employment within the framework of leading with care • Partner with relevant control functions on investigations and outcomes • Create insights from data to inform process and improvements to drive a culture consistent with Mastercard values All About You: Experience working within complex, multi-national, matrixed, and fast-paced environments Background in law (ideally legally qualified or with equivalent experience), bringing a strong employment law capability Market Experience across UK, Ireland (broader European markets preferred). CIPD qualification (or equivalent professional experience) Deep Human Resources expertise, with significant and demonstrable experience in Employee Relations Proven ability to advise on a wide range of employee relations matters, applying sound judgment and a pragmatic approach Strong project management capability, with experience successfully delivering global or cross-regional initiatives Highly developed investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize data effectively Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, tact, and professionalism in all interactions Exceptional attention to detail, alongside strong verbal and written communication skills Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
