The Director, Conferences Marketing is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the commercial paid attendee success for our Australia and Japan conferences, in tight partnership with Gartner leadership across Program Management, Conference Operations, BTI Sales & Services, and Conferences Sales (CAS). The role will directly manage the Australia and Japan Conference Marketing team, the GTM strategy, execution and commercial results, and be instrumental in driving client retention and prospect growth to support high growth BTI results. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic, business and analytical acumen with a deep background in marketing and a collaborative spirit at all levels. A strong aptitude for marketing best practices and enabling technologies is critical to overall success. What you’ll do: Responsible for leading and managing the ANZ and Japan conferences portfolio strategic GTM, with direct revenue accountability and oversight across global conferences Set global strategy for building, executing and continually optimizing campaigns to support the high-level volume and revenue growth requirements of the conference marketing team Direct management of marketing managers who owner one or more conferences, assisting them with approaches to Identify, proactively prospect and nurture new business prospects with a high propensity to convert to a conference attendee and Gartner research client Engage LUs to attend a conference as a means to strengthen value and overall retention Work with product research and conference program management to develop a deep understanding of product offerings and conference agenda to successfully develop, position, package, and communicate the value proposition of Gartner and the conference to potential attendees Develop high level partnerships with key internal stakeholders including program, CAS, database, corporate marketing, and digital marketing teams Identify and manage critical portfolio engagement, channel and conversion KPIs to track performance and provide regular insights and reporting to key stakeholders Led the creation of value-based portfolio and conference messaging & positioning, competitive differentiation, and story lines for conference promotion (both existing and new launches) through emails, collateral, video, web, SEM and other channels Work with Digital Marketing Center of Excellence and analytics tools to inform and identify the best channel mix to drive best possible ROI on campaign spend Monitor overall campaign mix and performance – from lead acquisition to registration, leveraging re-targeting efforts to maximize overall engagement Work with cross-functional teams to optimize or replace existing go-to-market processes to support marketing at scale across both existing client and net new audiences Ability to interact with and report regional performance to GLT and senior leaders across the business, including commercial results, pace to plan, challenges, and risk mitigation strategies Demonstrate a significant understanding of the company’s markets, products and services for optimal business success Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-moving environment, desire accountability, be courageous, and drive results with a focus on impacting the market. They must be a true team player within marketing, within Conferences, and to key company partners. What you’ll need: Metrics-driven and insatiably curious with a minimum of 8-10+ years’ experience in outbound / digital marketing and direct responsibility for delivering revenue through marketing and sales channels Proven track record of exceeding KPIs and delivering consistent revenue and customer growth through an always-on marketing approach.
