Date Posted: 2026-09-15 Country: United States of America Location: OT999: 1CP - Farmington, CT One Carrier Place, Farmington, CT, 06032 USA Position Summary The Cybersecurity Intern will support the Cyber Operations & Intelligence team in protecting enterprise systems, networks, and information assets from cyber threats. This role provides hands-on exposure to Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and Security Engineering disciplines. The intern will work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals and gain practical experience with industry-leading tools, processes, and technologies. This internship is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in Cyber Defense, Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, or Security Engineering. Key Responsibilities Security Operations & Threat Intelligence Monitor security alerts and events from security platforms and assist analysts with initial investigations. Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Assist with threat intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting activities. Support threat hunting initiatives and detection improvement efforts. Incident Response Participate in cybersecurity incident investigations under the guidance of senior analysts. Assist with triage, documentation, evidence collection, and incident tracking. Help develop incident timelines and contribute to post-incident analysis and lessons learned activities. Support cyber exercises, tabletop scenarios, and response readiness activities. Vulnerability Management Review vulnerability scan results and assist with risk prioritization. Track remediation efforts and validate vulnerability closures. Support reporting and metrics related to vulnerability reduction and remediation performance. Research security advisories and emerging vulnerabilities affecting the organization. Security Engineering Assist with implementation, testing, and tuning of cybersecurity tools and controls. Support automation initiatives that improve security monitoring and response capabilities. Participate in security technology evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and platform integrations. Help create technical documentation, playbooks, and operational procedures. Program Support Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations for cybersecurity leadership. Analyze security data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and technology stakeholders across the organization. Education Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Must be actively pursuing a degree and remain enrolled in an accredited degree program following the internship start date in Summer 2027. Basic Qualifications Strong interest in cybersecurity operations and defending enterprise environments. Understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and security concepts. Familiarity with common cybersecurity domains such as: Incident Response Vulnerability Management Threat Intelligence Security Monitoring Security Engineering Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The hourly range for this role is $20/hr to $26/hr. We may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
