Practise the Business Manager - Maintenance at Generalmotors interview free →Job Description The Role You will be responsible for implementing and executing the established business processes for an area of greater complexity in the site’s technical services operations while fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of the GM Workplace Safety System, Maximo and GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Also possess the ability to deal with complex technical problems. In this position, you will support the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment and participate in the training and development of salaried and hourly employees while also developing highly effective teams. What You’ll Do: Own and be directly responsible for multiple GM Workplace Safety System Technical Elements and Performance Standards Maintain awareness and enforce all safety and technical standards and communicate department goals Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping Ensure compliance with Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes across the entire team that contains multiple departments, multiple skilled and other than skilled team leaders and team members Manage all aspects of the Maximo system that includes managing Corporate measured KPIs (Key Process Indicators) Manage the site’s mobile equipment rental fleet Ensure compliance with all aspects of GM’s Hazardous Energy Control Systems Assign and prioritize Technical Services tasks with production needs Source and purchase emergency repair equipment and hardware using established and approved purchasing methods Serve as a resource leading technical troubleshooting and root cause activities across the entire facility Work with multi-functional teams of Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing and External Equipment Suppliers Lead and write OpEx Projects on identified and self-identified opportunities Coach / Administer /Audit and be a backup for all functions within Kronos Build and maintain a good working relationship with employees, Union and Management Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union Implement and follow systems that prevent the reoccurrence of known issues Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods Identify and devise solutions based on limited information and precedent Use evaluation and judgement to solve problems that are new to the organization and require a deep level of experience and strategic thought to create a solution Enhance relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners who are not familiar with subject matters and often require persuasion Use data and analysis to demonstrate the value of a project, anticipating, and addressing objections and/or concerns Often effect change in broader functional areas without direct exercise of command, using persuasion in situations where reaching agreement may be hindered by differing opinions, past practices, or experiences Managing challenges and problems that are of a diverse scope with multiple moving parts, while developing a plan and viewing the whole picture that may be a significant challenge Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points Own the development and delivery of solutions, driving cross team and group efforts Lead by example, taking responsibility for your own actions, acknowledging mistakes, and holding themselves accountable for achieving goals. Address and evaluate a diverse range of issues using innovative methods and proposing alternative approaches Serve as a mentor to more junior level employees, providing coaching and guidance on difficult issues Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications): Education – degreed college or university graduate Manage complex issues across all 3 shifts Be able to work split shifts, overtime and weekends Fully qualified individual contributor who has knowledge and understanding of all aspects of a function and exercises independent discretion and judgment on significant matters based on professional knowledge Recognized as a fully qualified, experienced professional Has complete knowledge and full understanding of own area and broad knowledge of related areas Takes broad challenges and, through independent professionally developed analysis, identifies and analyses options, and breaks them down into initiatives capable of implementation Identifies opportunities and proposes solutions to improve internal processes, services, and structures to support functional strategies Uses and can demonstrate advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve a wide range of non-standard problems Works independently; receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience Very strong oral and written communication skills Very strong interpersonal and collaborative skills Very strong follow-up skills and great attention to detail What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Education – mechanically or electrically degreed college or university graduate Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $105,600.00 - $140,700.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
