Associate Engineer Software Application Engineer - AB Suite

What success looks like in this role: Application Development Participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of AB Suite applications. Develop, debug, and unit test application components under guidance from senior team members. Assist in developing new application components such as Ispecs, Reports, Classes, Methods, and Services. Perform code fixes and enhancements for existing business applications. Create and maintain technical documentation related to assigned development tasks. Follow software engineering standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices. Application Support & Maintenance Support L2/L3 application maintenance activities. Analyze and resolve application issues within agreed service levels. Assist in troubleshooting production incidents and identifying root causes. Support deployment, implementation, and validation activities. Monitor application performance and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Learning & Collaboration Work closely with senior developers, technical leads, and business analysts. Participate in code reviews and team knowledge-sharing activities. Actively acquire and enhance knowledge of AB Suite, MCP, and related technologies. Participate in transition and knowledge acquisition activities when required. Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams. Quality & Process Excellence Develop unit tests and support system testing activities. Ensure compliance with secure coding and quality standards. Follow SDLC, Agile, and development lifecycle processes. Report progress, risks, issues, and dependencies in a timely manner. Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives where applicable. Tools & Technologies Primary Technologies Unisys Agile Business Suite (AB Suite) Enterprise Application Environment (EAE) AB Suite Development, Debugging, Testing and Deployment MCP-based application support Preferred Technologies Unisys ClearPath MCP MARC CANDE WFL COMS DMSII SQL Server Oracle Database Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) Microsoft Visual Studio Version Control Systems You will be successful in this role if you have: BA/BS degree and 0-2 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 0 to 3 years of experience in application development, support, testing, or maintenance. Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts and programming principles. Exposure to object-oriented programming concepts is desirable. Knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, DMSII, or other relational databases. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred. Strong willingness to learn enterprise application technologies.
