Associate Business Systems Analyst, Commercialization Technology

Career Category Information Systems Job Description As a Business Systems Analyst within our global Commercialization Technology team, this role will support the evolution of portfolio governance operations capabilities. You will partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to understand business needs, translate them into technology requirements, and support the delivery and continuous improvement of innovative technology solutions. This position will provide an opportunity to contribute across the technology delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, backlog refinement, testing, documentation, and production support. The successful candidate will work with business and technical stakeholders to understand processes and user needs, help define effective technology solutions, and develop knowledge of enterprise technologies, data, Agile delivery, and emerging capabilities such as AI and analytics. Roles & Responsibilities: Collaborate with Product Owners and System Architects to conduct business analysis activities, ensuring alignment with business and product goals Understand customer needs to gather, analyze, and document business processes and product requirements Work with Product Managers and customers to define scope and value for new developments Collaborate with Business SMEs and Product Management in prioritizing release scopes and refine the Product backlog Ensure non-functional requirements are included and prioritized in the Product and Release Backlogs Facilitate the breakdown of Epics into Features and Sprint-Sized User Stories and participate in backlog reviews with the product team Clearly express features in User Stories/requirements so all team members and stakeholders understand how they fit into the product backlog Ensure Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done are well-defined and understood Stay focused on software development to ensure it meets requirements, providing proactive feedback to stakeholders Develop and execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changes What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Basic Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 4 years of information systems experience as a business analyst Demonstrated experience serving as an information systems business analyst supporting enterprise software or data solutions Ability to deliver defined technical assignments while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies, platforms, and business processes Eagerness to learn and grow in a software development environment Functional Skills: Must-Have Skills Experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA Hands on experience with project management and business analysis concepts Experience with Agile software development methodologies and ability to work effectively on projects using Agile methodology Experience providing support to IT system users, including troubleshooting production issues, providing training, and participating in incident response Working knowledge of application security concepts, including authentication, authorization, and access controls Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies Ability to create clear technical documentation, including designs, diagrams, configuration instructions, and operational support procedures Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders and collaborate across global, virtual, and cross-functional teams Good-to-Have Skills: Experience implementing and supporting Salesforce based applications Experience serving as a business analyst supporting enterprise-grade software to production within a global, highly regulated, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment Experience with stakeholder management, ensuring seamless coordination across teams and driving the successful delivery of technical projects Experience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps Able to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business terms Experience evaluating technology solutions and platforms, assessing capabilities, risks, integration considerations, and alignment to business needs Experience identifying and evaluating opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to improve business processes, decision-making, or user experiences Experience with data visualization and analytics solutions, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights for business stakeholders Working knowledge of data management concepts, including data quality, governance, integration, lineage, and lifecycle management Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodology. Experience with Jira Align is a plus Experience supporting applications or business stakeholders with technologies such as Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks, AWS, or GitLab Familiarity with secure software development and delivery management practices Working understanding of business operations in one or more of the following Drug Development Life Cycle areas: Research and Development, Commercialization, Operations, Process Development, Commercial, or Marketing Experience working with geographically distributed development teams, vendors, business stakeholders, or managed-service providers Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, software development, data engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, Agile, or enterprise platforms Professional Certifications: Agile (preferred): SAFe for Teams certification or equivalent Project Management (preferred), for example: Project Management Professional, Certified Associate in Project Management, or equivalent Business Analysis (preferred), for example: PMI Professional in Business Analysis, Certification of Capability in Business Analysis, Certified Business Analysis Professional, or equivalent Soft Skills: Exceptional collaboration and communication skills High degree of initiative and self-motivation Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully Team-oriented with a focus on achieving team goals Strong presentation and public speaking skills .
