With more than 10 million assessments delivered across 120+ countries, Talview is trusted by leading global organizations About the Role We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and maintain the Talview platform — robust backend services powered by PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS Lambda, GraphQL, Hasura, Node.js, and Temporal. As a Backend Engineer, you will own complex technical problems, adhere to the established standards the rest of the team builds. Responsibilities • Design, develop, deploy, and operate scalable backend microservices that serve millions of users. • Monitor service usage and continuously improve efficiency, stability, and speed. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Frontend Engineers, QA, Customer Success, and Product teams. • Own your services end to end — take responsibility for solutions deployed for customers, from design through operation. • Participate in proofs of concept and trials for new product features. • Integrate with a diverse set of APIs, services, and data stores across the ecosystem. • Contribute directly to platform reliability, scalability, and product success. What We're Looking For • 5–6 years of solid backend development experience with Node.js. • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles. • Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests. • Working knowledge of distributed systems, application tuning and profiling, and CI pipelines. • Proficiency in SQL, with PostgreSQL preferred. • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture. Nice to Have • Hands-on SaaS experience. • Experience in customer-facing engineering roles. • Familiarity with Git, VS Code, and REST client tooling. • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Excellent verbal and written communication.
