Senior AI Engineer

**Chronicle is building frontier models for audience simulation on social platforms: understanding and predicting human preferences at scale.** Join a fast-growing team to lead research efforts at the intersection of large-scale recommendation systems, behavioral simulation, and generative AI. In this role you'll set research direction, inform data collection and annotation, develop the core modeling architectures, and work with a high-caliber team alongside collaborators from leading academic and industry labs. You'll own the technical vision and research roadmap for large-scale audience forecasting and recommendation modeling, working closely with the research and leadership teams. You'll design and train proprietary models leveraging Chronicle’s internal datasets and infrastructure, and take those models from research prototype to production in a tight partnership with product and engineering. As a senior member of the team you'll recruit, mentor, and set the bar for a growing research team. **Who you are** 1. You have 6+ years building and shipping ML systems, with deep expertise in recommendation and ranking systems, statistics, predictive or causal modeling, and LLMs. 2. You have a track record of training models at scale and a strong grounding in robust ML pipelines, multimodal data representation, and model validation on real-world tasks. 3. You can lead ambiguous, open-ended research and translate it into working product, and hold an MS or PhD in CS, ML, or a related field, or have equivalent industry experience. 4. You have experience with media platforms including streaming and social, ad infrastructure, marketing science, or conversion optimisation. 5. You might have a history of building and leading research teams.
