Junior Applied AI Engineer - Document & Voice Systems

Red6.ai is an applied AI team building real systems for US businesses. Our projects involve documents, voice calls, internal tools, integrations, and agent workflows that have to handle real users and messy input. We're looking for a junior engineer who wants to work on document and voice systems. You may already be stronger in one of those areas. That is fine. What matters is that you have solid Python fundamentals, have built something practical, and are willing to learn the other side. On document projects, you'll work with PDFs that are scanned, rotated, incomplete, badly formatted, or inconsistent from one sender to another. The work can include OCR, page and document classification, layout and bounding-box handling, structured extraction, confidence scoring, and human-review queues. A useful system needs to show where a value came from and know when it is not confident enough to continue on its own. On voice projects, you'll help build and test flows involving speech-to-text, text-to-speech, interruptions, latency, transcripts, and escalation to a person. We care about whether the call works under ordinary conditions: background noise, an impatient caller, an unclear answer, or a downstream API that responds slowly. Across both areas, you'll write evaluations, add logging and traces, expose functionality through APIs, deploy changes, and investigate failures. You should be comfortable treating model output as something to measure rather than something to trust by default. Experience with OCR libraries, document models, voice APIs, FastAPI, or observability tools is useful but not mandatory across the entire list. Personal projects, internships, freelance projects, and open-source work count. Please show us what you built and be honest about the parts you owned. You'll work with senior technical guidance and will gradually own defined pieces of client delivery. Clear communication matters because you may join selected calls with US clients and will need to explain progress or a blocker plainly. This is a full-time, remote role within India. You'll need to be comfortable working at night in IST when collaboration with the team or US clients requires it. Other working hours can be arranged more flexibly. The salary range is ₹2,00,000-₹15,00,000 per year. It is a broad internal band and it completely depends on the skill set. Hiring includes a short intro, a practical interview, a short POC work sample, references, and an offer. We expect the process to take 2-3 weeks.
