MiPrep creates personalized questions and answer preparation from a candidate’s background and the role they’re pursuing. Candidates can rehearse aloud, review feedback and access interview support through its AI copilot. We’re looking for a curious, motivated **Database Engineer** to contribute to the product’s development. You’ll work across user interfaces, backend services and integrations, helping turn technical ideas into useful experiences. This paid internship offers hands-on experience with web development and AI product engineering, alongside opportunities to learn through collaboration, code reviews and practical problem-solving. ### What You’ll Work On - **Design database systems:** Assist in designing, developing and maintaining scalable, reliable databases using technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB. - **Optimize database performance:** Write and optimize SQL queries, improve indexing strategies and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure efficient data retrieval. - **Manage data infrastructure:** Support database migrations, data modeling, backup and recovery processes while maintaining data integrity and availability. - **Ensure data security:** Implement database security best practices, access controls and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information. - **Collaborate on improvements:** Work with backend developers, data engineers and product teams to improve database architecture, support application integrations and build efficient data management solutions. ### Why This Opportunity You’ll gain hands-on experience in database engineering, SQL, database design, query optimization and data management while working on real-world products.
