Every deal in real estate requires a rotating cast of varying professionals and coordinators all working in confluence and yet every product in the industry was built for one professional working alone. Our vision is to unify professional networking, collaboration tools, and a purpose-built CRM into a single integrated platform that should have been built decades ago for one of the most foundational pillars of the American economy. We intend to redefine the way professionals connect, collaborate, and close while simultaneously preserving the privacy and best interests of their clients. ### WHERE WE ARE REcollab is pre-funding. We're building our founding team now so that development begins immediately when our raise closes rather than months later. Candidates we select will receive a written contingent offer, specifying salary, equity, and start date, effective upon close of our funding round. We're being upfront about this because we want people who are energized by building something from the ground floor, and because we'd rather you evaluate that honestly now than discover it later. ### POSITION SUMMARY The Backend Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing backend services for our minimum viable product, primarily in Spring Boot. This individual has a strong resolve, excellent communication ability, and the initiative to solve problems in a fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate would possess strong production experience within Spring Boot Java, is capable of implementing various technologies in tandem as part of MVP requirements, and is a positive highly-collaborative influence within our lean and motivated engineering team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues, and is capable of wearing many hats. *We are not accepting applicants who do not reside in the United States of America.* **REQUIRED SKILLS - TECHNICAL** Below is a summary of the technology skills we need, ordered from highest to lowest priority: *Spring Boot Java | WorkOS | AWS S3 | MongoDB/NoSQL | GIS* For each item below, please be prepared to explain how much of the work you personally performed and in what setting. * Deep familiarity designing, building, and maintaining backend services and APIs using Spring Boot Java * Hands-on experience implementing Role-Based Access Control in WorkOS, and writing robust and secure systems that survive the scrutiny of enterprise confidentiality requirements. * Experience implementing services in AWS S3. * Experience integrating services with MongoDB (or similar NoSQL) data stores * Solid understanding of datatypes and where they belong (data modeling across application layers) * Experience translating business requirements into sound, maintainable business logic **REQUIRED SKILLS - PERSONAL** * Clear written and verbal communication in the English language * Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking * Attention to detail and pride in clean, maintainable work * Self-motivated; works well independently and on a team, capable of collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders on shared technical projects * Capable of wearing many hats **IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD ALSO HAVE** * Experience designing systems from the ground up * Familiarity with cloud deployment and CI/CD pipelines * Experience with implementation of third-party payment processors * The willingness to relocate to Chattanooga, TN *All application decisions will be made by a human.*
