Software Engineer III - Full Stack

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms Digital Workflows Product Line, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will design, develop, test, and troubleshoot software solutions across the SDLC in a secure, stable, and scalable way, working in a collaborative agile team. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job responsibilities Design, code, test, and deliver full-stack workflow features end-to-end. Build backend services and integrations primarily in Java and Python. Build and consume REST APIs (GraphQL a plus) across internal and external services. Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness. Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation. Contribute to retrieval patterns (RAG), embeddings usage, and semantic search integrations where needed. Write secure, high-quality, well-tested code using engineering best practices. Participate in code reviews and improve test coverage and maintainability. Use CI/CD practices to ship reliably and improve operational stability. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues with awareness of upstream/downstream impacts. Collaborate with product, platform, and engineering partners to deliver outcomes and communicate progress. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Demonstrated ability coding and debugging in Java and Python. Full-stack development experience across services/APIs and UI components. Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Experience across the SDLC with exposure to agile delivery practices. Working knowledge of CI/CD workflows and modern delivery toolchains. Practical understanding of secure-coding practices and application security fundamentals. Working knowledge of SQL and data fundamentals that support reliable feature behavior. Strong problem-solving and communication skills; effective collaboration in distributed teams. Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security. Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
