Senior Engineer – Building Technology Systems (BTS)

The Senior Engineer – Building Technology Systems (BTS) will support the design and delivery of Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Audio Visual (AV), Security, Telecommunications, Smart Building, and ELV systems for commercial, hospitality, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, transportation, data centre, and infrastructure projects. The role covers all project stages from concept design through construction documentation, authority approvals and ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, and authority regulations. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (E&CE, Electrical, or related field). Minimum 8 years of experience in building technology systems or related field. Demonstrated experience delivering multidisciplinary projects. Middle East/GCC project experience preferred. Experience working on hospitality, commercial, residential, healthcare, infrastructure, mission-critical, and mixed-use developments. Experience with BIM-enabled project delivery. Technical Knowledge & Experience ICT Systems BICSI RCDD preferred. Structured Cabling Systems (ISP & OSP Copper and Fiber). Fiber Optic Networks (SMF/MMF). GPON and FTTX Infrastructure. Telecommunications Rooms (MDF, IDF, TER, Entrance Facility, etc.). Data Centres and Server Rooms. LAN/WAN Infrastructure. Enterprise Switching and Routing. SD-WAN Fundamentals. Wireless Networks (Wi-Fi). Wi-Fi Heat Map Design using Ekahau. DAS and Cellular Coverage Systems. IP Telephony and Unified Communications. Rack Layout Design and Cable Management. Active Network Design including QoS, High Availability, Resilience, Redundancy, Segmentation, and Optimization. Cybersecurity Awareness and Network Segmentation Concepts. Control Room and Data Centre Rack Design. Uptime Institute and TIA-942 Familiarity. Hot Aisle / Cold Aisle Data Centre Concepts. Rack Power Loading and PDU Design. Specifications, Reports, and Basis of Design Documentation. AutoCAD, Revit, Visio and Ekahau proficiency. Security Systems CCTV Surveillance Systems. Access Control Systems. Intrusion Detection Systems. Intercom Systems. Visitor Management Systems. Security Management Systems (SMS). Physical Security Information Management (PSIM). Intelligent Video Analytics and AI-enabled Surveillance. Facial Recognition Technologies. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR/LPR). Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) Systems including Bollards, Road Blockers, and Wedge Barriers. Security Network Infrastructure Design. Security Control Rooms and Command Centres. Video Wall Monitoring Systems. Security Storage Calculations and Recording Retention Analysis. Security Equipment Room Design. Prepare Security Device Layouts, Field-of-View Drawings, Schematics, and Equipment Schedules. Conduct Camera Coverage Studies using JVSG and another applicable sofware. Support Device Placement Coordination and Coverage Validation. Understand Authority Requirements and Security Approval Processes. Security IP Network Design including Power, Cooling, Containment, and Cable Management Considerations. Audio Visual (AV) CTS / CTS-D preferred. Acoustics design fundamentals. Background music and public address system design. Speaker coverage analysis including SPL, STI, and RT calculations using EASE or similar software. Digital Signage and IPTV Head-End Design. AV over IP systems design. DSP concepts and audio system integration. Projector system design with line-of-sight and image sizing calculations. LED display wall and video wall systems. Microsoft Teams Rooms and Unified Communications systems. Meeting rooms, boardrooms, auditoriums, conference centres, hospitality venues, and ballroom AV systems. Smart spaces and workplace technology integration. Converged network, cable management, and power system requirements. Coordinate AV systems with architecture, interior design, and acoustics consultants. Technical specifications, reports, and presentation documentation. SketchUp experience preferred.
