The Opportunity Lead the Projects that Define Canada's Resource Future Bring strategic vision, commercial insight, and delivery leadership to complex mining and resource developments that create lasting value for clients, communities, and industry. Based from an available WSP office in Ontario or Québec, you will contribute as Director, Major Projects - Resources within our Resources business line and report to the Vice President, Major Projects / Mining & Resources Leadership Team. You will lead the pursuit, planning, governance, and delivery of significant multidisciplinary assignments across Canada, guiding projects from early development through execution while strengthening client relationships and expanding WSP's Major Projects practice. #GlobalMining #ERI_Opportunities #carrières_ERI Your Impact Lead a portfolio of major mining and resources projects, setting execution strategies that advance safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client outcomes. Strengthen project governance, reporting, controls, risk management, and decision-making while providing strategic direction to Project Directors and Project Managers. Build executive-level client relationships and shape major pursuits through capture planning, proposals, interviews, negotiations, and sponsorship. Drive commercial performance by overseeing revenue, profitability, forecasts, contracts, and risk exposure across consulting, EPCM, PMC, and owner-representative assignments. Develop geographically dispersed teams and future major-project leaders through workforce planning, mentorship, accountability, and a collaborative One WSP approach. Shape long-term growth. The Skills That Set You Apart A bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, construction management, or a related discipline; a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent professional registration is preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience delivering mining, resources, major infrastructure, or industrial projects, including leadership of large multidisciplinary programs with significant complexity and risk. Advanced knowledge of project governance, project controls, contract management, commercial execution, financial forecasting, and enterprise risk management. Experience working across owner, EPCM, consulting, contractor, PMC, and owner-representative environments throughout the full project lifecycle. Demonstrated success building senior client relationships, leading strategic pursuits, negotiating major assignments, and expanding repeat business. Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams and align operational leaders, technical specialists, project teams, and corporate functions around shared outcomes. Experience engaging clients, contractors, regulators, and Indigenous communities with sound judgement, respect, and a commitment to meaningful collaboration. Executive-level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder leadership capabilities; bilingual French and English proficiency is a strong asset, particularly for candidates based in Québec.
