DevOps Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing Technology team in Hyderabad, supporting the delivery of innovative SaaS applications for the UK general insurance market. You will play a central role in building, maintaining, and evolving the cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines that underpin our products — working closely with development squads across COA (Claims Outcome Adviser), IVI (Intelligent Vehicle Inspection), AIS (Automated Insurance Solutions), and Property UK. This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership. You will contribute to our central cloud architecture team, helping to shape the standards and patterns that keep our AWS-hosted estate reliable, secure, and cost-effective. If you are passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and continuous improvement — and want to work at the heart of a fast-moving, cloud-native engineering organisation — this is the role for you. • Proven hands-on experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role, with a strong focus on AWS and cloud-native architectures. • Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling — CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform — in a production environment. • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using one or more of: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or TeamCity. • Strong working knowledge of containerisation technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes. • Development experience, with proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling; familiarity with other languages is advantageous. • Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or equivalent. • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, methodical approach to incident response and root cause analysis. • Comfortable working within Agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban), with hands-on experience of JIRA or similar tooling. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and engage effectively with development teams and stakeholders. Desirable • AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect) is highly advantageous. • Experience contributing to a central cloud platform or architecture function, setting standards and patterns used across multiple teams. • Familiarity with the UK general insurance or financial services sector. • Experience working within distributed or offshore engineering teams, particularly across UK and India time zones. • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, IAM, and cost optimisation strategies within AWS. • Exposure to event-driven architectures, serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Step Functions), or microservices patterns.
