Cobol Developer

About the role: • Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. (Code must be used in core version of applications available for sale commercially.) • Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. • Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements. • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. • Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies. • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. What you will be doing: we are looking for an experienced in HP Tandem COBOL programmer to join PHASE3 team. Additionally, knowledge of basic SQL queries is expected. Knowledge of HP Tandem utilities, FUP, TACL, Pathway, Batchcom will be additional advantage. The successful candidate will work on Enhancement and Support projects for the Product. Support solutions and ensure the quality and utilization products satisfy client needs. Recreate, document client issues, and troubleshoot problems to support product quality. What you will need: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Competencies Experience – 5+ years. Fluent in English. Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion. Attention to detail – track record of authoring high-quality documentation. Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements. Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team.
