Domain BA — Integration, EOD & Golden Scenarios Positions: 2 seats — Integration & EOD Rules / Golden Scenarios | Location: offshore, reports to Functional Lead; onsite, reports to Engagement Lead | Works with: All domain BAs and Bank SMEs | Focus: The integration / EOD backbone the programme plan is built on, and the behaviour baseline that anchors parity ROLE PURPOSE Own the two backbones that anchor the programme plan and its parity evidence: the business view of the integration estate and the end-of-day chain, and the golden-scenario behaviour baseline. In Discovery, map what connects to what — with timing, criticality and business logic at each boundary — and turn validated logic into a business-readable golden-scenario dataset with agreed expected outputs and tolerances, so the Bank has an auditable definition of “correct” before anything is built. Through delivery, specify the target integration contracts, own interface and EOD validation, and convert the golden baseline into the executable regression estate and the parity evidence behind every gate. BUSINESS AREAS OWNED The full integration estate — the system register including the undocumented systems (payment-receiving, bidirectional money-market and EOD-chain systems). Payments and settlement business rules; the multi-step EOD payment chain and its fixed timing constraints; reconciliation, control-report and settlement-finalisation logic. Downstream feeds (risk, ALM, prime, reconciliation, operational reporting) and client-statement interfaces; reference- and market-data feeds (counterparties, SSIs, calendars, rates and curves); integration touchpoints for derivative instruments. The behaviour baseline that anchors parity across all domains — CPI, funding, call and flexible / structured cases — with agreed expected outputs, tolerance definitions and SME sign-off. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Own the Integration Inventory (business) — direction, pattern and protocol per interface, criticality and SLA windows, EOD dependencies, and sequencing / risk-and-impact analysis; clarify the undocumented systems as priority items. Produce the EOD chain execution trace and document integration-driven business logic (platform ownership, duplicated rules, coupling hotspots); own EOD-cutover and timing risk. Own the Golden Scenario Dataset — scenarios spanning CPI, funding, call and flexible / structured cases across all domains, with input data and preconditions, expected outputs (parity targets), accrual / fair-value / settlement references and tolerance definitions. Run scenario-based SME playback to classify behaviour (required / intentionally-changed / defect-not-to-replicate / obsolete / uncertain) into an approved Behaviour Catalogue; maintain the Behavioural Delta Register; build the risk-based regression inventory (Tier 0 must-not-fail controls, Tier 1 high-volume journeys, Tier 2 edge cases). Write Functional Service Specifications for integration and data services; contribute integration risk as an input to the 5R disposition; feed the Wave Plan (EOD-moves-last sequencing, blackout windows) and define output-parity thresholds and parallel-run evidence for the Go / No-Go gate criteria. Specify target integration contracts and event flows as facade and anti-corruption layers go in; support EOD re-platforming (batch-to-event) and payment-chain migration; own functional validation of interfaces and the EOD cutover — the last and highest-risk migration step. Convert the golden-scenario baseline into the executable regression estate, run legacy-versus-target parity comparison each wave and investigate every material difference; own the parity evidence pack behind each Go / No-Go gate through build, migration and cutover. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Deep, hands-on Commercial Lending business knowledge (essential) ; Structured Lending experience a strong plus. Working understanding of Murex; ACBS / LoanIQ product knowledge desirable; South African lending market knowledge a nice-to-have. 6–7+ years BA / functional analysis in banking — an integration and batch / EOD focus (integration seat) and functional-QA / test-scenario definition for financial calculations (golden-scenarios seat). Reads and documents interface contracts, timing / SLA dependencies and reconciliation logic; comfortable with real-time, batch, event-driven and file-based patterns; specifies tolerances, rounding and reconciliation checks precisely. Strong at surfacing hidden coupling and articulating the business impact of integration failure; precise and outcome-focused, running structured SME validation to signed-off baselines. Comfortable working onsite with business and operations SMEs to reach signed-off baselines and parity evidence (golden-scenarios seat). Desirable. Payments / settlement (SWIFT) exposure; middleware and messaging familiarity; characterisation / golden-master testing experience; parallel-run or migration-assurance background.
